Not only will they trade you upgrade services for resources, they may also have new items available - so it’s important to check back once in a while! Upgrading weapons will increase the damage of the weapon, and upgrading armor will reduce the damage you take while wearing that armor. When you’ve gathered enough resources, you can head back to Ward 13 and talk to the upgrade vendor. The more difficult the enemy, the more valuable (and rare!) the resources. Enemy threats you eliminate along the way will have a chance to drop scrap and sometimes they will even drop rare upgrade materials. Scrap and other items you find on your adventures are useful for purchasing consumables, upgrading gear, crafting weapons, and more. While exploring the world in REMNANT, you will find and loot valuable scrap that can be spent at vendors in Ward 13 - your home base of operations. Over time, enemy health and damage output rise to astronomical levels which can only be dealt with through the systems detailed below.īen "tragic" Cureton, Principal Designer at Gunfire, is here with more developer commentary on upgrading, crafting, and Firearm Mods!

Now that you know how to navigate the post-apocalypse (or die trying) let’s discuss the bones of how crafting and character progression works in REMNANT.ĭue to the heavy replayability of REMNANT, the game difficulty scales to match your progress. One that lets you see foes through walls, and use more weapon traits.Today we’re bringing you another deep dive into more core system mechanics for REMNANT: From the Ashes! Last time we talked about Moving, Attacking, & Dying and how those systems lay the groundwork for the flow of combat. It's about having more access to the game mechanics in the game already. Your suggestion would push the base capabilities of every PC too high, making the 'very hard' baseline difficulties of the level designs too easy. Giving players a 3rd weapon mod, one that is not only the highest dps boosts you can get (rip hive cannon), it also increases the speed at which you clear levels and dungeons due to not needing to take things slow to check your corners. Originally posted by Pendergast891:The game is already ridiculously easy once you have items and leveled gear. What then stops people from demanding that undying becomes a free thing to get from killing the undying king due to how it's mandatory on every hardcore character, it even reduces the weapon variety you can use.

You say 'Hunter's mark is so good that it's an auto include in every build so we're restricted to 1 weapon mod slot' which is not true btw. Hell, just make them all available at the same time and then we can run around with dozens of abilities firing off at once!

Might as well ask for boss weapons to have their unique weapon mods be free as well so you can still slot the mod you want on it. I'm shocked that weapon mod builds didn't really get touched with the latest update, and now you want to give even more power to them. Weapon mods are already ridiculously strong, with some builds being able to one shot most normal enemies, 2-3 shot elites, and you can 'gun' down bosses very easily.

The fact that you haven't understood to this point how much power just the pseudo wall hack effect is in this game, and wanting to give it to players for free is laughable. Your suggestion would power creep players so much that it would require entire rebalancing of gear, map design, and enemy damage scaling. The game is already ridiculously easy once you have items and leveled gear. It's not rocket science to want to farm foes for xp having to use the same weapon trait everyone else uses constantly to see how many are left on the map. In a game with only 2 weapon trait slots it makes no sense to have an ability that highlights foes and gives a buff to all weapons take up 1 of only 2 slots. The ability without being a character trait and not tied to a weapon trait opens up the second weapon trait slot to be used for different weapon trait combo builds. I am like AMAZED at how people seem to not be able to comprehend this. Needless to say its also legal wallhack which helps you a lot? I If you cant see how powerfull it is, you probably dont know how DPS works.

You CRIT CHACE is increased, as other guy mentioned already. Originally posted by Roadie:Exactly how is seeing your foes through walls on demand with a character trait so you can have 2 weapon traits available instead of 1 and hunters mark 24/7 over powered? Explain your logic to me.
